This subclass is for a digital elevation model. masspoints provide a general model of the terrain. breaklines include streams, ridgelines and other linear features of topographic significance. areasOfExclusion are areas where points are purposely missing, as may be the case with lakes or open-pit mines for example. areasIndefinite are areas where elevation values may be considered uncertain, as with the determination of elevation on some glaciers using photogrammetry.
