comments:

saifRelease: the release number of the version of SAIF being used.

saifProfile: provides basic information on the types in the SAIF schema which may be used in the transfer, and any associated restrictions or constraints. A saifProfile may be considered a functional version of SAIF with a series of rules as to how SAIF is to be employed; i.e., it amounts to a highly restricted approach to the use of SAIF. Details on various saifProfiles may be found in accompanying documentation. SAIF as a base standard does not include saifProfiles (or userProfiles). Each saifProfile must be approved and maintained by a central authority.

userProfile: includes the domains for the components of coordinates, the use of international character sets, the use of any schemas external to those which are part of the SAIF standard, and any user defined types. Note that the saifProfile and userProfile are different concepts.

dateAndTime: refers to the date and time of the transfer.

remarks: comments may be included in the remarks.
