The major goal for Phase II is to support power harnessing, the ability to dynamically concentrate as much of the cumulative resource power in a wide-area distributed system to meet the demands of any single application. The project will focus on creating an underlying hardware and software infrastructure that supports power harnessing, and above which software systems targeted to support Earth science applications can be built. As in Phae I, the project will seek to develop partnerships, both financial and intellectual, with the university, industry, and the state and federal government.
