This is an abstract superclass. Classes which are considered to define metadata are placed under Metadata or one of its subclasses.
In the SAIF standard schema only spatialReferencing and temporalReferencing are given explicitly in the definitions of SpatialObject and TemporalObject, respectively.
Other metadata in user defined subclasses may be defined through the inclusion of the appropriate attributes. These attributes may have as domains metadata classes from the SAIF standard schema, or other user defined classes, which may or may not be subclasses of those in the SAIF standard schema.
